Marilyn Artus is a mixed media artist based in Oklahoma City, OK. Some highlights of Marilyn’s art career so far have been Solo & group museum & gallery shows in Oklahoma, New York, Tennessee & Washington. She was a co-founder of The Girlie Show, an all female art festival that ran for 10 years in OKC. She received the Brady Craft Alliance Award for Innovation in fiber arts in 2011. In 2010 led an art making workshop at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. She is currently working on a nationwide art/travel project to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment called Her Flag.
Being female is my greatest curiosity. It is a never ending resource of joy and heartache that inspires me. My passion is working with materials that are unexpected as a vehicle for fiber making to explore this curiosity.
